To deliver true "Silent Anchor Mode" and a zero-compromise ecological footprint, the engineering architecture relies on an advanced DC-bus parallel hybrid powertrain. By operating at high voltages, we drastically reduce cable weight and maximize electrical efficiency across the entire 88-foot hull.
1. Electrical & Battery Architecture
The heart of the vessel is an integrated, liquid-cooled battery vault built directly into the centerline keel matrix to keep the center of gravity as low as possible.
* Battery Chemistry: Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LFP). This chemistry is selected for its superior thermal stability, safety profile, and long cycle life compared to standard lithium-ion options.
* Capacity Array: 500 kWh to 750 kWh operating on a high-voltage 800V DC system.
* Silent Anchor Autonomy: This capacity allows the superyacht to run all "hotel loads" (full multi-zone air conditioning, stabilized gyro systems, watermakers, entertainment, and galley) for 14 to 18 hours in absolute silence, completely independent of fossil fuels.
2. Propulsion Drivetrain Matrix
The GOTTSEGEN 88 utilizes a smart twin-screw configuration that blends high-torque electric motors with highly efficient, tier-compliant diesel range extenders.
* Electric Propulsion (Pure Eco Mode): Twin 250 kW permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) coupled directly to high-efficiency shafts or compact pull-style pod drives.
* Range Extenders (Boost / Transit Mode): Twin 800 hp low-emission, electronic common-rail marine engines.
* Operating Modes:
* Pure Electric Mode: Used for silent harbor maneuvering, coastal island hopping, and protected marine reserves.
* Hybrid Transit Mode: The electric motors and diesel engines work in tandem. The diesel engines run at their peak efficiency RPM, turning the props while simultaneously charging the LFP battery bank via integrated shaft generators.
* Boost Mode: Maximum power from both systems combined for high-speed transit during unfavorable sea states.
3. Clean Energy Harvesting (The Infinite Loop)
An 88-foot superyacht offers premium surface area to actively harvest energy directly from the environment, minimizing the need for shore-power grid reliance.
Solar-Kinetic Integration
* The flybridge carbon-fiber hardtop and forward coachroof are surfaced with 12 kWp to 15 kWp of flush, marine-grade monocrystalline solar skin.
* On a clear day, this array generates enough power to completely offset the baseline daytime hotel load (refrigeration, lighting, AV, and ventilation), meaning the battery bank remains untouched until sunset.
Hydro-Regeneration (Powering While Sailing/Drifting)
* When the yacht is under sail (if configured with a high-performance auxiliary rig) or anchored in a tidal current with speeds exceeding 4 knots, the pitch of the propellers adjusts.
* The passing water currents spin the free-wheeling propellers, turning the 250 kW electric motors into underwater hydro-generators that feed clean energy back into the 800V DC bus.
